Here are the events that will take place this coming hockey season:
1-The CIAC Hockey Committee along with the Referee’s Association will
sponsor a boys virtual Coaches and Captains meeting on Monday,
November 25, 2024, at 6pm. The Referee’s will go over the new rule
changes, I’ll go over some of the thing’s CHSCA will be doing, and Marc
Balanda-chairman and Joe Morrell (tournament director) will go over
the tournament for this coming year. Please make every effort to
attend along with your captains for this virtual meeting.
2-Our boys & girls’ all-star games and placement of players and
information will be announced later.
3-We will again be doing the Hobey Baker High School Character Award
for boys and girls with more information to follow and the CHSCA
Hockey All State Dinner for boys and girls will be held on Sunday, April
13, 2025, at the Aqua Turf at 1:00pm. Doors open at 12 noon. We will
again have no seating plan. The awards given will be Asst. Coach of the
Year, MVP in all 3 divisions, Player of the Year, CHSCA Team of the Year
and Coach of the Year. All ticket money must be paid online through
the CHSCA web page. For you to vote and participate in the many
things that our association does for boys and girls ice hockey, you need
to be a member of the association. You can sign up on our web site and
pay at www.chsca.org
4-All 3 boys divisions will be the same as last season. Also, there are no
teams that have opted out of the state tournament this year.
5- The CIAC Ice Hockey Committee from our organization will be the
same. They are Sal Follo, Ex Officio member, Ralph Russo, Mac Budd,
Dean Diamond and Frank Usseglio (Girls). We will continue to represent
our ice hockey coaches. I will continue to let everyone know what is
going on and ask for your input before the members vote on any
matter that comes before us. That is our responsibility to represent you
and our organization (CHSCA). If you have any questions, feel free to
contact me. If I don’t have an answer for you, I will make sure to
contact the CIAC and get the answer and pass it on to you.
6-I will continue to update the e-mail addresses for coaches. If you have
changed your e-mail address or want to add one, please let me know.
Also, if you want an assistant coach added, please pass the information
on to me.
